Outer Mission is a residential neighborhood near the southern edge of San Francisco. During its early days, the area consisted mostly of farms which produced potatoes and Swiss chard for the city. The area was eventually developed in the early 1900s as an extension for the nearby Mission District. Today, Outer Mission is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in San Francisco, with a unique personality reflecting the low-key suburban atmosphere of its surrounding neighbors. The neighborhood is very accessible to all amenities and access to public transportation is excellent. In addition to offering easy access to the I-280, both the BART and Muni metro lines run through the neighborhood, allowing residents to easily get to where they need to go.
